NDT Engineer

DESCRIPTION

SEAM (South Eastern Applied Materials) Research Centre. NDT Engineer, 24 months contract €35-€38K per annum depending on qualification and experience.

The Role 

• Utilise non-destructive techniques (primarily x-ray micro-CT) to analyse product components. Full training will be provided.
• Discussion of report findings with clients
• Assist SEAM staff in Industrial Project Activities
• Support SEAM staff in writing proposals for various funding agencies

 Requirements:

Applicants must hold a minimum Bachelor’s level qualification (Mechanical/Materials/Relevant Eng. discipline) with high degree of computer literacy with good working knowledge of solid works.  

Desirable Skills

  • Masters level qualification (Mechanical/Materials/Relevant Eng. Discipline)

  • 1-2 year experience in a relevant R&D/Engineering environment

  • Practical approach to problem solving & good grasp of engineering principles

  • Proven experience in handling various analytical and testing equipment

  • Proven track record in writing failure analysis reports

  • Some experience in writing proposals for funding agencies

  • Good Project Management skills

  • Capable of diligent recording of outputs of work activity

  • Capable of working on own initiative

  • Good team working and interpersonal skills
